| Selection Factor | Recommended Check | Why It Matters | Example Choice | |||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Voltage Range | Choose 40V, 80V or 200V output range. | The voltage rating must cover the maximum required load voltage. | Use a 200V model for higher-voltage DC testing. | |||||
| Current Range | Check required continuous and peak load current. | Current capacity determines whether the supply can support the intended operating point. | Use a 40A model for low-voltage, high-current applications. | |||||
| Power Rating | Select 160W, 320W or 640W class. | Voltage and current combinations are limited by the model’s total rated output power. | Use a 640W model for higher continuous power demand. | |||||
| Remote Control | Decide between analog, USB or Ethernet control. | Interface selection affects automation, data recording and integration into test systems. | Use Ethernet or USB for digital remote control; use analog for 0-10V control systems. | |||||
| Protection Limits | Configure OVP, OCP and OPP before testing. | Protection thresholds help reduce risk to the power supply and connected load. | Set OVP slightly above the expected operating voltage for sensitive electronics. | |||||
